The 2020 Philosophy Department Student Essay Contest is now open!
The Philosophy Essay Prize is open to Year 12 or Lower 6th students. The aim of the Prize is to encourage able sixth formers to pursue their interest in Philosophy, with the hope that they will be encouraged to read this or related subjects at University. The titles for the 2020 Philosophy Essay Prize competition are as follows.Students may only submit an essay for one subject. Each school may only submit 5 entries per subject. The submission deadline for all entries apart from Philosophy is midday on Friday 6 March 2020. Students must complete the following web form, and ensure that they attach both their essay and a cover sheet (blank copy below).The Mission of the Kids Philosophy Slam is to give kids a voice and to inspire kids to think by unlocking their intellectual and creative potential through a unique and powerful philosophical forum. Our contest takes off on the 1st of February. We will be accepting students’ submissions until 11:59 PM June 1st, 2020. After the deadline runs out, our dedicated judges will carefully check your submissions to identify the winners. The winners’ names will be revealed on the 5th of June.
