The Hodges Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships are designed to encourage and support original and significant studies exploring the complexities of human orientation.This award is given to a recent PhD student for the outstanding doctoral dissertation completed in the Department of Biology. Frank A. Belamarich joined the BU Biology Department in 1963 as an assistant professor where he quickly gained international recognition for his research in the field of comparative hemostasis, the process of blood clotting.Fellowships. Students are encouraged to apply for appropriate Harvard and outside fellowships throughout their enrollment. The Fellowships Office provides guidance to and information for graduate students seeking funding for research support, language study, and multiple-year general and dissertation-writing support.
